Not only do the baskets reflect generations of traditional handcraft, they also provide income and financial independence for rural women in a context where most women engage in unpaid labour.

It takes 2 or 3 days to hand weave each piece. They are sustainable, elephant grass is procured locally, vegetable based dyes are used to dye the grass by hand and the weaving is all done by women.

These stunning planter baskets are woven in the Bolgatanga region of Northern Ghana. Each has been made by hand by skilled artisans using unique techniques.

For ease of transport, these baskets are shipped flat. Re-shaping your basket is very easy and we'll include full instructions with your parcel.
